Therapeutic Approach

Anxiety and fear can ensnare people, eventually restricting their world to a pinpoint focus on alleviating or controlling distress. I help people break free of the anxiety trap and live life on their terms, not on the relentless terms dictated by their anxiety.

To put it in a more clinical way, I specialize in evidence-based individual therapy for adults struggling with anxiety, phobias, panic attacks, obsessive-compulsive behaviors, and/or posttraumatic stress.

I conceptualize problems pragmatically, focusing on factors that interfere with your ability to live the life you want and interventions to resolve or manage them. My approach is cognitive-behavioral, meaning that I focus on how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors interact to create and maintain problems. A central part of that work involves gradually approaching things you fear in a way that helps you fear them less over time. I incorporate mindfulness and acceptance-based strategies to help you develop a more flexible and adaptive relationship with thoughts and feelings.

FAQ

Q: Do you accept insurance?

I do not accept insurance. By request, I can provide you with a receipt that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. I recommend checking with your insurance provider to see if they offer out-of-network benefits for therapy services.

Q: What are your rates for therapy services?

I charge $350 per 45-50 minute session and $500 per 75-80 minute session. Intakes are typically 80 minutes and are charged at the 80-minute rate.
