Health coaching helps individuals set health-related goals, develop healthy habits, and overcome barriers to healthy living. For some, the focus is on optimizing athletic performance, while for others it may be managing stress, injury, or illness, or finding ways to incorporate fitness into a busy schedule.
I lean on my training as a psychologist to help clients set and achieve personalized health goals, often incorporating mindfulness strategies that can help with focus, performance, stress management, and motivation.
I'm not a licensed medical or nutritional professional, so I don't provide medical or nutritional advice or treatment.
Given my experience in the tech industry, I have a particular interest in helping individuals in tech and other professional fields navigate their careers, particularly those who are underrepresented in their industry or feel a disconnect with the culture in their company or industry.
In addition, my background as a software engineer and CTO gives me unique insight into the challenges of executive leadership and the startup world.
Q: How is coaching different from therapy?
Coaching differs from therapy in that it doesn't involve diagnosing or treating mental health conditions. While both therapy and coaching empower individuals to take charge of their lives and make positive changes, therapy focuses on alleviating symptoms of diagnosable psychological conditions, and coaching focuses on helping individuals achieve goals and improve their overall well-being. Coaching helps you identify and work towards your goals, whether they're related to career advancement, health and wellness, personal growth, or other areas of life where you seek improvement.
